Lyndall Gold vs Lyndall Z Plus
Seen lots of posts here on the Lyndall Brakes.
I went to their website and read all the marketing stuff on both pads.
The Gold run $59 and the Z Plus $46. $13.00 difference is nothing.
Are there any pros and cons on the Gold vs Z Plus?
Am I just over thinking it? Just go for the Gold?

You are correct but unclear on one point. Did you mean that the golds stop "minor improvement in stopping power" over what, Stock or the Z+ pad? Thank you.
There is new Gold pads that are made with improved (entirely different) friction material and not the same as far as wear. We would get typicaly (on the rear od a FL) 7-9K miles on the old gold material, now we get in the neighborhood of 13.5K miles on the same rear.
The Gold material is ment for extreme weather and better stopping power. The brakes & rotors also have a part in the compairson. davewear A good compairson & good write up.

ok lol i'll be more clear; the golds are a minor improvement in stopping power and feel over the z pads and the z pads are a huge improvement over stock. the golds wore quicker than the z's for me. this was on stock rotors tho i now have harley semi floaters.

I put the Z Plus on my 2002 V-Rod and noticed right away that the swoosh swoosh sound when going really slow was gone, the amount of brake dust that was put out went way down and the stopping power was better. As someone else said the Z-Plus will wear longer than the gold, so I would go with them if I were you. I will put them on my Road Glide as soon as I wear these stock pads down a little more, want to get my money out of them first.

Lyndall brakes they have great customer service. I run the gold's as the Z's do not work well in heavy rain. I put a set of Z's onlast year before I headed out to Sturgis. Ended up riding on I90 in heavy rain and when a truck ahead hit his brakes I almost hit the bike in front of me as it felt I had no front brakes. For the rest of the ride in that rain I wouldsqueeze my front lever as hard as I could and rely on my rear (DP pads there) brake more as well as leaving more space between me and the bike ahead.
When I got home I called Lyndall and they told me that the Gold works better in the rain and sent me replacement golds out free. When I called them for the part number for the 08 calipers they gave me the Z part number.I told him that I would go with the gold as Ihad an issue last year with the Z's in the rain he said that he would send me gold replacements right away.I had to stop him and told him that they did that already. Great great service.

If you ride in heavy rain use the Gold+ pads is the rule of thumb.
I live in south Florida in the summer in pours everyday. Personally, I use the Gold+ pads.
From what I've learned about the LRB pads vs. HD stock.
Stopping at 40 mph, HD pads 82 feet, Gold+ pads 70 feet.
That 12 feet could make abig difference when I NEED to stop.
