Default Throttle cable adjustment

I just changed out my 16" apes for the stock Heritage Classic handlebars. In the process of course I changed out the clutch cable, throttle cables, wires shorted up and the brake hose replaced with stock hose. My 2005 Heritage Classicwas purchased used with the 16" apes which I did not want so that is why I went back to stock. My question/problem is the throttle cable on the return side seems to have a little too much slack in it. When I tested the throttle cable with the cycle running, the throttle response seemed great, but should the return cable be tight or have a little slack?

I think you should leave some slack so when you turn the bars left and right there will be room for the cables to move a little and not tighten up. You can also visit a dealership, play with a new bike and "fill" what the factory sets them at, and take it from there.
