I have a 2007 883L. I bought it new, never been down or dropped. It has 14000 miles on it with no problems. The last couple weeks the handling has gotten progressely worse. Kind of feels loose, like it would if you were riding on roads with rain grooves, or riding the crown on the road. Feels really strange in turns, slow or fast. The tires are original, with 5/32 left on the front, and 4/32 left on rear. I have checked all the normal things and am now stumped. My stealership was great at the time of sale, sucks after. Is it possible the tires have a broken belt, or does it sound like it is time for new rubber? Any help is much appreciated.

 

Check your tire pressure. Check that your spokes are tight.

Make sure that both your forks have the same about and an adequate amount of fork oil. You could also check your neck berrings as well.

Do you have cast wheels or spokes? Spokes will and do loosen up, and talk about strange handling...
