Default fork slider change out questions

Don't have the 08 manual yet. Gonna be sending the sliders out to powdercoat soon and just curious when I change them out am I suppose to replace the 6mm screws in the bottom? I see from searching on here that others have stated that there was a sealant type stuff on the screw and some reinstalled with loctite and some used gasket putty. Any input on this? What is the torque spec on the 6mm screws? Also, mechanic at the HD shop stated with my low mileage on a new bike he wouldn't bother changing out the oil seal, that he'd leave it right on the fork and reuse it. I know it's cheap insurance, but what do you think? Think I could get away with it?

I replaced mine, but only because many folks suggested having a new set on hand because I'd mess up the heads on the old ones when I removed them. I didn't, but used the new ones anyway. They are so cheap that I would, assuming you have a dealer close by. Oh, and no way would I re-use those old seals, I'd replace them. They are too cheap to justify a tear down again if they leak.

First rule of thumb, if the part is cheap, replace it. There's nothing worse than getting everything back together only to find that the $2.00 seal or gasket, $3.00 allen bolt that didn't get replaced is the one thing that leaks, strips, etc.

Are those the screws with the copper washer that hold the damper tube into the leg from the bottom?
If so, I'd just replace the washers and reuse the screws. I used blue Loctite on mine last time I had them out. (are the internals the same in each leg on an '08?)
If you're careful, I don't see the need to replace the seals either.
