I'm looking for a new 16x3.5 (80 or 60 spoke) rear wheel for my FXST 2000.

When I find a good deal it usually says THIS IS A DUAL FLANGE REAR WHEEL AND WILL FIT FXR, FLST, FLSTC, FXST, FLSTF, FLSTN, DYNA, NIGHTRAIN, DEUCE, SPRINGER AND XL 1984-1999.

So can anybody tell me where to look for a rear 16x3.5 wheel for FXST 2000?

I'm just courious, is it just because it is for a newer model (therefore marketing trick) or is the wheel 2000 so much better and therefore so much more expensive?

 

Your normally going to pay in the $300-$700 for a real top quality rim. $250 dont sound that bad at all depending on the brand etc.

 

It's actually $380, not $250, which is quite interesting when compared to '99 version wheel which is for $180.
Do you think it would be more efficient to buy '99 wheel + something to be able to mount it on 2000? Is it technically feasible?

Btw. where did you get your 18x5.5?

When we are talking about wheels, do you know the stock 40 spoke wheels on FXST 2000 - are those spokes stainless or chrome or what? My look quite rusty so I can't even recognize it. Therefore I'm considering buing new ones.
