Default Dunlop or Metzler?

My '07 Dyna FXDC needs some new tires and I am debating replacing the OEM Dunlops with Metzler ME 880's. Any thoughts?

Just had first pair of Metzlers mounted this weekend. It's hard to believe the difference on my roadking.

There may be some good Dunlop upgrade options, I don't know. The choice between OEM and Metz is a no brainer. I'll never put OEM back on my bike. The ME880 will always be on my bike.

The Dunlop E3 is a excellant tire. They handle road imperfections much better than stock 402s.
I've been running them now about 1000 miles.Cant believe how much better.
Mileage is supposed to be bette rthan the ME880.That probley has more to do with how one rides though.

I got 15K out of my Metzeler rear tire - still riding on the front at 18k and replaced the rear with Metzeler. I do not buy Dunlop as a hard and fast rule. In my opinion, they are economy tires - cost comes before performance. I would consider Continental or Avon.

Why as a rule won't you buy Dunlop tires? What performance/wear/etc issue do you have with them? My bike needs tires too, so I have the same question as started this thread. Thanks.

They are too slick in the rain and don't grip as good in turns.

Thanks. Good to know. Of the Metzler tires, do you ride on ME880 ones or another style?
