Default Ohlins

So Last fall I put Ohlins HD-044 on the back of my 14 Ultra. I had air ride and it made a HUGE difference. I am thinking about doing the forks this Spring. Can anyone tell there thoughts on the Ohlins Fork cartridges.

I am sure the Ohlin cartridges are quality and I considered them for my '02 FLHT after replacing the OEM shocks with Ohlins. However, for a lot less money I installed some Intimidators, Race Tech springs and different weight fork oil and handling was much improved.

And a "rebuild" is now just a fluid change on the forks at 20K miles. The cartridges have to be sent back to manufacturer for a rebuild, along with $100-200, and at least a week of down time.

That is the setup I have on mine. I am very happy with my Ohlins NiX cartridges up front, and the 044s in the rear.

I'm on a Heritage Softail, I realize it's not the same bike as yours, but I can tell you the Ohlins shine at highway speeds. Didn't really notice much difference in comfort, but I haven't changed any of the dampening settings from what was recommended.

On the highway the bike felt more stable and expansion joints at bridges did not unsettle the bike. Expensive but worth it in my opinion

Yes change the front for anything but stock . I love my NIX 22 front suspension . Best money spent on any Harley is suspension .
