Default Springer front end Springs in need of adjustment??

I just picked up a new to me 2003 heritage springer. 4000 miles.

springs look like they have way too much tension on them.

can I get some advice on doing this properly …. I know there is slots tension on there and don’t wanna have a spring jump into my face. Thanks in advance for any help.

Those don't look right. There's a adjustment cd I bought when I had mine. Looks like it needs torn down and inspected.I suggest taking it to a independent Harley tech and getting it adjusted.

Yeah that don't look right... While I'll rip stuff apart, Shocks/struts on a vehicle and the springs in the front end are where I draw the line with my hand tools and bring it to someplace where, if something happens, they can fix it with less downtime than I can.

Where about in NY are ya? If you're near White Plains I can recommend an Indy dealer should you want to go that route.

thanks.
I am out on Long Island.
I have a few options as far as shops go
I am about to look up the special tool to take the tension off the springs and dis-re assemble the springs. I am not in a rush.
was hoping someone would know what nut is the main adjusting nut… but I think I have figured that out over the last few days.

The spring perch rods look bent to me. I know it’s an FL front end and has less rake than an FX but they look bent.

These are new rods ,springs, and spring bushings. They are straight. Yours don’t look it to me.
