Default Rear axel adjuster bolt adjustment on FLSTSI

I recently installed HD swingarm axel covers on my Springer Classic and had to tighten the rear axel adjuster bolts down further than they were set to provide clearance for the cover at the bolt head. When I loosened them they did not seem to be seated very tight against axle bolt, but I had to put a few more turns on them and they got pretty snug. Is this OK, or did I just overtighten them? I want to be sure that I am not stretching the belt or risking any other problems.

Thanks for any advice on this!
