Default 2017 Street Glide Special Rear Shocks

Harley Davidson does not show that their regular size adjustable rear shocks fit the 2017 Street Glide special, only the stock low adjustable shocks fit and they don't give any other suggestions. So when i asked the mechanics at one HD store they said i had to replace both the front shocks and the rear. When i spoke to another HD store they told me I could replace just the stock rear shocks. Sort of confusing, i would prefer to replace just the rear shocks, i just want a little more travel on the rear.

You could get 13" (regular size) shocks along with lowering blocks, keeping your stock ride heigth with more travel. Best of both worlds.

The .75 height increase is not a problem for me. The problem is the dealerships giving conflicting messages about this issue and that Harley doesn't offer the 13 inch adjustable rear shocks for the 2017 Street Glide Special, it makes me think that HD thinks there maybe an issue, you have any thoughts on that?

I cant speak to what the dealer did or didnt say. The 13s can be purchased at any dealership and they can be installed on your bike.

as a rule of thumb, you can lower the rear an inch safely, and not do anything to the front, If you lower the front, you must lower the rear as much.
