Default Rear shock upgrade 2017 custom

Ok guys , need a little help here.
The wife and I went on a 100 mile run today around Ohiopile and some of the flowing back roads corners , And I gotta tell ya .... the stock shocks suck dogs *****.
Now I don’t want to pay a 1,000,000 bucks on a set of springs but I’m looking at more travel and if the bike sits level on its stand ( if it has to ) rather than the *** down look of the custom, I can live with that.

Im open to any suggestions cos the current 2” of travel on the stockers have got to go.

Wiz 👍

I just put some Progressive 444s on my 2006 Road King Classic. The stock air shocks were on there for 114,000 miles. Now things are smooth! I paid $611 two weeks ago for my 444s.

On today’s ride I could tell the rear shocks were much smoother and handling the bumps better than my stock front forks with fresh oil. Progressive makes a kit to replace the front innards... I may be looking at a set soon.

Hey Ed Thx for the input. What length was the 444’s ya got and did it cause an issue with ya jiffy stand as from what I’ve heard, too longer rear shock makes the bike nose down And affects the ride.

Cheers 🍺

I called Progressive’s tech line and they told me to get the 13” shocks to keep the ride height stock. I would recommend you call them and ask specifically about your bike and what length will work best for you.

I ride solo most of the time so the standard duty shocks work for me. I can tell these shocks handle the bumps better than the stock front forks, even with fresh fork oil. I think I’ve started something...

And to to think a few weeks ago I didn’t know how crappy my ride smoothness was!
