103 b motor to switchback frame

Hi from the UK and welcome to HDF.
The 'B' motor is the balanced softail unit, not a Touring one, which is the 'A' unit IIRC. In addition the FLD is a Dyna frame model, not a Touring frame model, however they both use the A motor, so that RK engine will be an A, not a B. The rubber engine mounting system on the FLD is not the same as a Touring model, in addition the transmission casing on the two bikes is different. So if you have the complete engine/trans unit from the RK, it will not bolt into your FLD. The engines of both bikes use the same crankcases, so the 103 should fit in place of the FLD's, once rebuilt with your FLD transmission and primary.
Hope that helps.

You can check one of the on-line parts websites, which will show you the differences between the two bikes. If you decide to go ahead with changing over engines, do get yourself the FSM!
