Default Rear Brake Master Cylinder and Forward Controls

I bought some new controls for my bike, but I cannot figure how to attach the linkage for the forward brake control into the rear break master cylinder. (RBMC)

These are the controls I bought. The piece on the very bottom of the image is the linkage I must connect to my RBMC. The right side of that linkage is what connects into the RBMC,

This is my RBMC. The piece that I outlined in black is part of the old controls. What I underlined in red was pinned together before I took things apart.

Wink

It would help if you tell us the brand of your kit. I'm going to guess that once you connect the two red bits together, presumably via a simple pin, there is a long link from the part that sticks up that goes forward to the brake pedal. When you press on the pedal the link will pull on the top of the lever in your photo, then the red parts will press the master cylinder, activating the brake.

Lay the parts of your kit out flat and post a photo, so we can see them as they may look in a side view on the bike.

Yes, and then bend the tab on the muffler if it contacts the pushrod, after bolting the muffler in place.

I cut the tab with a sawzall, same result. Thanks to everyone for the help. I just need to figure out how to get that female hex pan head bolt out.
