'14 Touring Chrome Lower Fork Install
I'm thinking about putting chrome lowers on my bike - and yes, I have ordered a manual. I am more of a hands on learner and do better by watching. I cannot find any videos or links to info on how to remove/replace the lower forks.
Anyone here done it before or have any info you can pass along I'd appreciate it.

Did that same job this winter, replaced the suspension at the same time.
If you've ever wondered how to replace fork seals, then this job is just the same--you just use different lowers when reassembling.
Here is a YouTube link that might be helpful:
I've done many fork seals over the years, and while there are many variations, most forks are pretty much the same on most bikes. Bushing and seal drivers can be made out of PVC, and since you have the same year of touring bike that I do, I can warn you ahead of time that the hex-head bolt in the bottom of each fork is bigger than anything you already have, most likely.
I found that a slightly-larger-than-the-bolt-head steel chisel handle (ground down a bit on the bench grinder) makes a perfect long Allen wrench for the bottom bolts, for about $3.
Take your time, you'll be fine.
All the best,
Shane
