Default Chrome Lower Front Sliders

Hey Guys and Gals,

I posted this question in the Sportster section but I thought I'd try my luck in the tech forum as well. I'd like to either cover or replace the stock front sliders on my '05 XL1200C with chrome ones. I'm looking for ideas on covers because I can't seem to find any online. So far my only option seems to be to replace the sliders with HD parts that will cost me some serious coin including the labor because I think this replacement is out of my league to do it on my own. I'm hoping to find nice chrome covers that are less expensive, look good and slide right over the stock forks. Anybody have ideas or know of any companies that make what I am looking for? Thanks! Ride Safe!

There's a company that makes them, I think they call them fork skins. They look good from a distance, but as you get closer, they look cheesy IMO. I would try to go for the replacement lowers if I were you.

Daaaaummmmn Mike! Those really look killer! I like them alot. I checked out Kuryakyn's website to get some info about them and they are sweet for $195 and change and only 20 mins worth of do it myself labor. That translastes to an hour and 20 for me...lol. Let me ask you this, does the brace that comes with them have any effects on the bike? My stock lowers do not have that brace. Do I need to install these with the brace? It looks like its needed but Im not sure. Thanks again.

everything you see comes in the kit including the brace and the axle covers 195 bucks 15-20 min and you made a big improvment on the ride. and much easier to keep clean. good luck

Don't forget about ebay. I've been looking for black lowers for my Night Train. I've seen tons of chromed lowers available. I can't say if they will fit, but the Deuce came with chromed factory lowers. Pretty nice looking in my opinion.

Thats a great looking paint job UltraVista. Looks sweet with the black engine. I just got my bike back from having the chrome lower sliders installed. Looks killer. I couldnt find any on Ebay for a good price that would fit my bike after looking for about 2 months. I bit the bullet and purchased them from the dealer. Cool thing was they had a Halloween sale this past weekend so I got them for 20% off. Saved about $80 with all the extra chrome I bought. The bike looks sweeet with the front end done in full chrome. Really adds a nice look to it. Will be posting pics this weekend. Good luck with finding your lower chrome sliders.
