Default Grease for Steering Head Bearings

The maintenance guide for my 2011 Ultra Classic recommends greasing the steering head bearings every 10,000 miles. I know HD has a specific grease for this (although I would imagine it is expensive), would another type of grease work just as well, e.g. lithium grease or all purpose grease? Or should I use the HD grease? Recommendations welcome. Thanks!

It is good practice not to mix greases.

There really is no answer for your question! I've been riding bikes for almost 50 years and have only ever used what grease I had available. If you have to buy fresh grease flip a coin as to where you buy it. Doesn't take any effort to remove the majority of whatever grease was in there before. Do I grease head bearings every 10k miles? No!
