Default Paste for rear pads but not front?

I have a 2008 Ultra with 30K and I am about to change the brake pads. I already bought the front pads and they come with a new pin. I looked at a couple of videos and they show using the paste for the rear pads. The front pads I have and the ones on the HD website have no paste. Why would the rear require paste but not the front?

I would use on both. Caliper grease keeps everything operating smoothly and can help with certain types of disk brake squeal. Also helps keep grooving of the pins down.
