Well - after a year of putting up with the slow site, I bit the bullet amd downloaded Google Chrome. holy crap batman - the site runs like lightning compared to the way it ran on IE. Now I just need to spend some time getting familiar with Google Chrome.

Apparently the site has gone corporate with the new ownership and they are packing in so many ads and bullsh!t portions of the forums that it takes way too long to load a window up. Sad to see that kind of change after seeing the way it was originally. Might be part of the reason so many of the old timers are now gone....and with them a wealth of information.

I have Chrome, Firefox and IE9, they all run fast!!
You need to keep everything updated on your end.

Mike;
It pays to keep an open mind. I've had the occasion
where I've had problems and it did end up on my end.
For what's its worth, I've had no problems here for a
long time, the site is fast and no glitches. Keep in mind,
there are over 200,000 posters here and three or four
have a problem, what does that say??

How come I'm able to read & load pages just fine on my iPad but on my laptop it's slow & sluggish? I've tried Firefox, Chrome, ad blocker, turning off flash player, etc.

(posted from my iPad cuz it won't load on laptop)

There's proof that your problems with your laptop are on your
end and not the forum. If your running windows a good place to
look for a remedy is here>>
http://support.microsoft.com/fixit/
This program is easy to follow and may actually fix it for you.

There is some kind of problem here...very slow on all my pc's with this site and no problems at all with others. Find it hard to believe many others here don't experience it as well.

Will do, thanks. I still don't understand why all other websites work just fine, including other forums.

Well my google chrome great experience was short lived. Today it seems to be busted and cannot connect me to any sites on the web, so I am back to the IE which is slow as $hit on this site. I tried the link snarly put up, and I get "We're sorry, but the program encountered an error trying to connect with the server. Please try again later."

So I am stuck with the slow *** IE - Google Chrome is busted and the fixit site doesn't work. I think I'll go for a ride now.
