Default Search function??? WTF??? ###Issue solved 2011-10-07###

What's up with the search function? I tried a couple of different searches and it kept giving me the "no matches found" bullshit. One search was for the word 'handlebars' in the parts section.

So after trying another seach a little later it gave me the same ****. So just to test it out I did a search for the word 'harley', and it's trying to tell me that it can't find that word in the entire forum.

The search function has never worked very well. A Google search will find stuff faster in HDF.

Yeah, I have the same issue which is why I posted a helmet thread when I know that I could have found the info that I was looking for with the search function.

I have always had better luck with google searches as well.

You can use the inurl or site operators. Here is a description from google:

http://www.google.com/intl/en/help/operators.html

For example

"site:hdforums.com handlebars" gives you all the pages on hdforums with the word handlebars.

and "site:hdforums.com handlebars inurl:softail-parts" gives you all of the pages with hablebars in the softail-parts forum.
