Ok, slow to the point of "no point in even bothering with this!" on Pc with firefox. Going to download safari and see if that helps.

Downloaded Safari for PC. Everything is lightning fast. I will use Safari for this forum. Firefox for everything else as there are not issues with other sites. I wonder what the difference is?

You downloaded a new browser, bound to be clean and
fresh. Uninstall Firefox complete, make sure to check
little box for removal of all old files, download new Fox
and it'll be fast again. I know this forum can be slow but
there are things you can do on your end to help.
Updating everything is important and so is updating
your browser, reset internet options on your PC back to
default, get rid of unnecessary add on's in your browser.
You can also make changes in your userCP in HDF so not
to load pictures, don't show similes, don't show sig pics,
etc, etc. Deleting temporary files, contrary to popular belief
will not help speed up your browsing, they were put there
to help speed it up. If you think you have some bad files,
then delete them. I delete mine selectively, I keep any that
are from HDF or any other site I know I frequent daily,
including their cookies.

TO ZAP. I understand that may work but this forum is the only site that is slow. Starting over with Firefox isn't worth it for just one site. I'll just log on here when I'm on the mac or use safari when on the pc. Easier for this lazy person.

The site is slow compared to other sites but usually after a couple of clicks it opens.

I am visiting my parents. I signed in on their Macbook, with Google Chrome. After I was on for a few minutes I got a message saying I should not go on HDForums because it had a virus and had been notified by Google.
Not sure what that is about, but I am back on my Droid, to feed the addiction.

Default Slow forum

Been suffering with slow browsing on this forum for a long time. Currently Windows XP with Internet Explorer. Happened upon a free download of Google Chrome, tried it, and so far browsing on this forum is A LOT faster.
