Default This has been my experience

I get up most mornings at 4:30 to 5:00 a.m. The pages load ever time for a few hours. The H-D site works as well as any other site I frequent. It's only when there are a lot more activity on the site that most of the aggravation starts. So isn’t that associated with band width?

I mean nothing fails to work just fine. I clear cookies on a daily schedule. I've got a fairly fast computer and when something does load within 2 to 5 seconds there's something wrong.

How can we say it's a browser issue?

The way I see it it's not so much a browser issue as it is a
difference between browsers. IE is historically known as a
strict program, it scan's everything and is reluctant to load
anything with errors, in other words it won't open the door
to your computer until it's satisfied, thus taking longer or
even refusing to load. The upside to this is safety, the downside
is slow. Other Browsers appear to be more lenient and load
quicker. The real solution is a combination of HDF writing
better programs and IE being more compliant
. An example
of the difference between Firefox and IE happened to me
a couple years ago, Firefox let a hack called "PacmanTheme,"
ride in via one of their add-on's and drove me crazy with
sirens, whistles and music for three days until I got rid of it.
It only effected Fox, Not IE. I could browse without the racket
on IE but not Fox. So, strict means safer but slower.
BTW..clearing your temporary files is actually counter productive.
The reason they're put there in the first place is to speed up your
browsing experience. I only clean mine periodically and even then I
do it selectively.

How can you explain the fact that my IE 8 work perfectly early in the mornings before the site gets busy. I'm up by 4:30 to 5:00 a.m. and the H-D site loads every time for the first few hours?

Actually pretty simple, the busier it gets the longer it takes
IE to sort out it's business.
Don't forget, this forum is without a doubt one of the biggest
consumers of bandwidth out there. I've been other places that
were slow during periods of heavy usage, so it's not uncommon.
Now..the simple fix, as the forum can't seem to do anything to
fix it is to fix it yourself and be done with it. IE8 is old and the only
way to update is IE9, wont work on Vista. So, get Firefox or Chrome
and be done with it. I've had Fox since '05 and now have Chrome
too. I can't say which is better yet but it beats hell outa putin' up
with IE8. And by the way, IE9 is pretty dam good now too. I have it
with Windows 7.

btw...some keep saying the forum should update, but it's really them that need to update.
Also, when this forum gets the program written to satisfy IE9, any IE below that won't work
right or will be glitchy anyhow. These are solely my opinions.
