Last night I upgraded from IE8 to 9 on my Vista laptop. The forum now works fine now. So, it appears to me that IE8 is the problem with this site. Funny that all other sites work fine on IE8.
My PC with XP is not compatible with IE9. The forum works well with Firefox and awful with IE8.

I have been a member of many sites from atv sites, snowmobile site, firearm sites etc and I have neve rever had to use any other browser then IE. They all work just fine with any version of IE. So swapping to another browser is not a fix for any issues. It is like putting a bandaid on a broken arm.

I still think the best fix is to turn off some of the bleeping ads. There running ads in three different places on each page. Totally not needed.

I agree; Way too much "flash" on here. You got cops jumping up and down, girls doing back bends over wheels and the right side of the page constantly rotating ads.

I could not get my laptop to update Malabytes so I had to get my computer guy to clean it for me. He said the MS removal tool malware came from an ad on this site.

I understand the need for some advertising on the site. The site gets a little kickback everytime someone hits one of the ads. It is just that there is no reason to have 3 to 4 areas of ads running "flash" or whatever on the board. Would much rather have a picture with a link or just a link to the ad rather then an animated ad. It really slows down the site for those that have a weak connection or slow provider.

Would a paid membership give me the option to turn off all the ads?????

I agree with you 100%. If you can upgrade to IE9 I'm pretty sure your problem will be fixed.
If not, I think Firefox or Google Chrome may be your only choice to speed things up.
I suggest keeping IE and using Firefox for this site. You may decide to switch or use both.
By the way, I did a speed test on both browsers and found Firefox to be about 30% faster.

This is the only forum I visit where, here lately, I have to click refresh to load a thread or a page. It happens about every 3 out of 4 times I try to load a thread or continue on to a newer page.

I’m running updated Firefox on XP Professional, Dell laptop.

When I click a thread or sub-forum there’s a delay and a window pops up in the lower left corner of my screen that says:

“Waiting on a1.interclick.com”

The page will not load until I click Refresh.

Again, it NEVER happens on any other website I visit…

I just had to click Refresh twice to open this thread and read your post.

Weird indeed, but at least I can read and reply...
