how to... add pictures to a post
#11
I use photobucket as well. Establish your free account, upload your pictures, and then from your album, under the pic you want to post, cut and paste the line of code that has the image tags ([IMG]url[/IMG]) around it and paste it in your post and be sure to include the image tags as well. Be sure to adhere to the image size policies of this site, if applicable, and no more thumbnails if you do it this way.
You can tell Joe pulls some weight around here because this post didn't get moved yet.

My way using Photobucket
Here's how I add images to a post:
I use a free account at photobucket.com to copy/paste pics into a post.
You have to upload your pictures from your computer to your photobucket account first, using the 800 X 600 re-sizing option in photobucket.
You will "bloat" the thread if you use larger image sizes!
When you want to add a picture in a post, first click the "insert link icon" --> <-- on top of the "Reply to Thread" box.
A message comes up and you have to allow the pop-up.
Now go to your album at photobucket, put your mouse on the pic you want to insert: a little properties screen pops up now.
Click on the lower "img code box" and copy (right mouse click) this img code (see below).
Now go back to your post at HDF.com and put your cursor in the text where you want to insert the image.
Now click the "insert link icon" , paste the img code into the box and click OK (see below)
Preview your post and check if the picture is not to large.
If you need some more help, just shoot me a PM

Welcome to the forum from the Netherlands, 712jared!
Testing should be done over here Testing Area .
It's not decent to do hijack a thread and use it for testing purposes!
Your test is prooving that this 1600x1200 image bloats the screen!
