uploading avatar
My new avatar is within the size limits. But when I try to upload it an error message keeps coming up. I've used this same pic on other forums so I know it will work. Why does'nt it on this site?

RE: uploading avatar
I'm having the EXACT SAME PROBLEM as akenaten. No matter what I do, it keeps saying FILE TOO LARGE.
I've followed the step by step process as outlined in the October info as to how to upload AVATARS, but to no use.
Ican use the ADD IMAGE fine, using photobucket as the link....... but forget trying to get mine to upload as an AVATAR OR PROFILE PHOTO under MY PROFILE. I was able to upload one of the generic avatars instead...but would rather have my bike featured.
Can you help me too???
Here are the photos........
Avatar photo is 145X97 and is 10.4KB link below

Profile photo is 290X193 and is 33.5KB link below

RE: uploading avatar
I simply downloaded your file to my desktop and then downloaded from my desktop to the HDF section in the download avatar window.
It worked first time.

RE: uploading avatar
Grover.....
I just tried the method you posted on 11-19-07 on a different photo. I took the photo with the correct sizes per the instructions, sent it to my desktop, then attempted to upload it from there. Still getting back "FILE TOO LARGE".
I even shut off my ad ware, firewall, Internet Security.......everything. Maybe it's because my Operating System is Windows XP Media Center......and I'm using IE 7 as a browser. Idontknow why I'm experiencing a problem.....this should be simple. Have done it a million times before. But just cant seem to get it done via your upload links, except to include a photo in the body of the message. Have to use ADD IMAGE, since if I click UPLOAD MORE FILES, it wont take it.
THANKS for doing it for me. I surely do appreciate it.
