When I type a keyword, I always get the same threads.

search in google.... "your search terms hdforums”
There are more technogeek ways to do it, but that usually gets it done for me.

The search function in vbulletin and xenforo based forums (which is virtually ALL of them) is terrible.

 

I didn’t even know that trick existed!!
that’s it!! I’m set.
Now if I want to learn how to close a thread or mark it as “resolved”, I’ll google “how to mark a question as answered hdforums.com”!!

I’ve found the trick is to go to “Search” - “Advance Search” - “Search in Forums - Deselect “Search All Open Forums” - Choose the appropriate forum(s) - Enter Key Word(s) - Select “Titles Only” or “Search Entire Posts” then hit enter. Doing it this way narrows the results to the appropriate forum(s) rather than giving results from all forums.

the issue here is that windshield is such a common term, it's everywhere! the suggestion from @GalvTexGuy is excellent!

 

I have never had any luck with search on this forum. It takes you to anything but what you search for . And most often to some place trying to sell you some thing.
