Default question on moved thread

I am wondering why it is not placed on the thread when it is moved, where it is being moved too. or does it mean its removed instead of moved. Seems a lot of arbitrary decisions made on here.

When I have seen a thread that says "Moved" I just click on the thread and it will take me to where it was moved to.

Unless the thread was moved to "jail", probably prior to deletion, such as troll threads. Then you'll get the message that you are not authorized to view the thread.

Which arbitrary decisions would you be referring to?

what I am referring to is that nearly every thread posted could be moved or removed for one reason or another, but arbitrary decisions seem to be made to move some and not others. doesn't take much intelligence to see that. and in fact some are "moved" and you have no idea why because you cant find them or are told you don't have authority to access.

What may seem arbitrary to you, could easily seem logical, say.......to a moderator. If we had to explain our decisions to everyone on this forum, we would not have time for anything else. So unless you have some specific examples I think it's time to move along.

I didn't ask for an explanation of your decision, I could care less, all I wanted to know was how to find the thread once it has been moved. your motivation for moving it is immaterial to me. although since you are taking the question personal, maybe there is more to it.

Oh boy. So now you're a conspiracy nut? When we move a thread, we leave a pointer to it. So what's the problem? If the thread violates the rules, it may be removed completely. No pointer left behind. Again, if you can't give us a specific example then this whole exchange is moot.

Well, like Springer said in his second post, just click the thread title and it'll take you to where it was moved to. Like the post here, asking about wheels. It didn't belong in this section, so it was moved. And OldBikerNut explanation is correct too.
