Can the '07 SE slip-on be modified to increase the sound dbs?

Yes. You can take the fiberglass wrapping off of the baffles. This will make them sound a little better. You could also try (although I haven't done it) putting more holes in the baffles, or opening up the part of the baffle that diverts the flow of the exhaust. I think I read where someone just cut a hole or slot in that part, but I'm not sure if they were pleased with the results. I ended up gettingthe Big City Thunder baffles that mount at the end of the head pipe, just in front of the slip-ons. Then I made the slip-on's baffles a straight through pipe by cutting out the part with the holes and the bend, and welding in a straight pipe. I love the sound now. It's not too loud at idle or just cruising but when you roll on the throttle, it definitely gets attention.

Thanks for the info! Is there a concern of remaping if you remove the fiberglass packing?

Removing the end caps, then drilling out the rivets that holds the baffles in.

Check out this thread.

I gave details on how I did mine. FWI - I have since put in Big City Thunder baffles. The ones that are for "alternate installations." They mount inside the end of the header pipe, just in front of the muffler. I also re-made the Screamin' Eagle baffles so that they are basically a striaght pipe. It sounds MUCH MUCH better. Plenty of volume when you roll on the throttle. I didn't remap or add fuel management until I put on the Big Sucker kit. With the stock air breather, I didn'tnotice any overly lean conditions. Now that I have the high flow air filter, I'm using a Techlusion 1440ST for fuel management.

When drilling out the rivets, did you drill into the baffle? It seems like when I try drilling the rivet I drill into something really hard, maybe the baffle, I don't know. Does anyone?
This is on a 07 Street Glide with the SE slip-ons.

Thanks,
Pete

I didn't have to drill out any rivets on mine. The torx screws that hold the baffles in are the tamper-proof type. You can get a bit for them at Sears.
