Default help what carb do I need?

hello,
I have a electra SIDECAR 1997 .
I had just put a 96CI s&s engine. I have a s&s super G carb, but a friend of
mine say that this sort of carb is for high speed.
I just want more power with this engine because the 1340 engine have not enough power with the sidecar. But don't want togo fast. 75, 80 miles is good speed maximum for me.
my friend say that a super E , a mikuni (42, 45..??? ) or just change the keihin carb with a special kit (what kit??)
(dynojet for exemple or something beter) will be good.
What do you think
thanks for your help.

I agree with your friend. Rework a stock CV carb and you'll get the best bang for the buck (or whatever).

The stock CV carburetor works for most cases....if tuned right.

Then again, S&S Super E are also hard to beat as well. They are one simple carburetor.

You have more carb than you need with the super G, but it will run just fine with it. Why spend more money if you have a carb that works? BTW I run a super G on a stock 1340 with no problems. I get around 43mpg and it runs just fine for the street. The only thing that makesthe super Ggood for "high speed" is that it is capable of supplying large volumes of fuel and airfor big engines.

43mpg !! = 5,47 l/kms .very good. It's difficult to have the same consommation with a kehin cv. wath are your main and pilot jets? mine are 78 and 31. I have found information on zodiac catalog, and there are good. I find to a yost power tube in the carb. The yost factoryis not really known in france. is it a good part? and what isits real result on the carburation?

I can't remeber my jet sizes, I will try to look when I get home. I don't have any personal experience with the yost power tube, but some people swear by them, others say it's a waste of money. They are only $50 US for the S&S so maybe it's worth a shot to see what it does. Here is their website, decide for yourself.

The easy thing to do would step down to the Super E, The smaller carb will bring better throttle responce and more trq lower down the RPM range.
