Default Rookie question -- blueing

I just got an 07 Low Rider on Monday....got about 150 miles on it now and sat down to clean it today. I noticed the pipes coming of the heads behind the heat shields were already blue...maybe down about 3 or 4 inches or so. Is this normal or did I do something stupid to make it happen so soon? I've probably only started the bike 20 times in the last week....got it home the first night and rode it around for about 15 minutes before work in pretty cold weather...that's about the only thing I can think of that might have caused it already.

Totally normal, the heat shields do act as heat shields, but part of their reason for being is to cover up the exhaust headers so that when they turn gold and blue and several other shades in between they are not as visible to the viewing public.
