Yes, if you port/polish the heads..........you really should get it retuned.

It will allow more air to flow thru, and in turn more fuel will be needed for the correct burn.

I think ported heads help any build, it's just a matter of spending the money or not.

Give Big Boyz a call and talk to Bean, he'll take good care of you.

To get the most bang for your buck out ofhead work, you may want to consider a new cam. A 510 isn't a lot of lift for anything but a mildly ported head.

For "02" type heads if yourstaying with stockvalve size .510 lift is fine. If your doing stage 2 type stuff with bigger valves then you might want to consider a cam with more lift. I have done nothing more than port n flowsome guys heads and done a retune on my dyno and have seen a 10 hp gain in power with a simular gain in trq also. Thats a street type port job with stock sized valves and the same cam.

what your saying a ported head with my build could give me 10 HP and 10TQ Im useing 42 mm throttle body that could help supply fuel.

Pretty much yes, You have to let the mixture get in and exhaust out to make power. Porting heads will do just that.

Hey maineultraclassic,

I'm going to the same setup you've got (witj some differences). I was wondering what your dyno readings are? Thanks, Bill
