I am thinking of purchasing the Rinehart 4 inch chrome slip-ons with the black end caps. I want to know if when I put them on, I can twist the end caps around so the "Rinehart Racing" logo doesn't show? I personally don't like the way it looks and I think it takes away from the black/chrome contrast. Besides, the sound speaks for itself on Rinehart's.

Does anybody know if this can be done without modification?

Also, if I bought the slip-ons with the chrome end caps, can anybody tell me if they are having a problem with the color changing? I've read that Rinehart has (had) that issue in the past, but I was also told the company changed chromer's a couple of years ago.

I have had two sets with end caps that turned color....but they turned from black to a medium metallic burgandy. Not uncommon. Rineharts did, and may still, recolor them black....and if you search there are articles on solutions. Never heard about the chrome. As I recall the set screw may show if you tried to mount them "upside down" maybe upside down on opposite side? My old set is not handy to me as I am traveling but will take a look at upside down for you if you don't get an answer in next couple days.

 

Flibuoy, thanks for your response. I never even considered that the black end caps would change color. When I asked that, I was referring to the chrome end caps.
