Just trivia, but those Andrews 48's are the non-emmision version of HD's 255's, nothing wrong in that, just saying.

Trying to learn here....I read of 26's pinging above 9.6-9.8 yet 48's and 255's are being run at similar compressions? Especially the 255 with a 25* IC. Is there timing being pulled to do this?

Here's what I have on my mind at this point. I already have the 2007 up camplate and tensioners pieces bought. If stay @ 88" 21n cam with 1.725 rockers. Or go BB and 26's......but then what about more squeeze and a tw-6?? How does that combo fall into the mix? I think I've seen Scott recommend that a few times...also Scott u have a pm about some headwork.

Is the 2006 cam stock a 40* intake close on all engines? This is what big boyz shows but s the only place I have seen that. I know 1 cat and more EPA stuff was introduced in 06. If that's the case then even a 26 cam would give a substantial low end boost as compared to if it were installed in an 05 or earlier TC.

The more I research the more undecided I become.....LoL.

Thanks for your feedback! Brian

You are over thinking. Go back and read the previous posts. You have one responder that runs 21s in a 96; one that runs 21s in a 88; one that runs the S&S509 in a 88 and one that runs the 48s in a 88; all with no issues. What so confusing about that? Ground truth has been posted; choose your poison. Your heads are OK as is and IMHO, the hi ratio rockers, even if only on the intake, are worth the cost to assist the lower lift cams. Work out the compression calcs and make a decision. You can find 21s, 26s and 48s on Ebay or other forums fairly cheap and a cam change is easy work. I have changed cam sets as many as four times over a season just because I can.

Scott is definitely a Woods fan; call him if you are thinking Woods cams.
