New Member needs exhaust support
Hey folks,
I am working with a 2009 SG Non california bike. I have Rinehart slip ons on a stock (no cat) headpipe. It sounds real nice, I like the deep sound at low RPM and highway speeds. my 2 issues are, 1- performance for my upcoming 107 kit, and 2- exhaust sound is not that great from the rear at idle, due to the off balance flow. hope I described that well enough; It seems the right muffler gets about 60 to 65 % of the flow and sound.
I am about to buy the Cobra Powerport headpipe. It seems to have some sort of crossover pipe that maximizes flow and performance. Happily, it doesn't seem to be visible like the V&H x-pipe header. NO offense to anyone, I just don't love the V&H. I Like the stock look I guess.
I'm sure many readers have first hand experience with these things. Someone please keep me from buying 2 exhaust systems. Is the Cobra setup going to retain the sounds that I like from the Rineharts? Will it also help to optimize the T-man 107 kit? I am aiming for max torque at 2800 to 4500 rpm.
As a side note, it seems that since I have a non California 2009, I have a desirable headpipe since it has no cats. Hmm? Could offset the cost a bit.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Hops
