Default Dealer Cost of Machining Cyl Heads for ACR's

Slowly working out the details of my build on a 2008 Flhx. Just wondering what the going rate is for the HD dealers to machine my heads to accept the ACR's. Also, would the MCR's be the better route to go ? I've heard sometimes they get stuck, but are easy to remove and spray with brake kleens ? I do believe the 08 models are wired for this option, but only when the touring with the 103's starting coming out, that they had these ACR's already installed and set-up in the heads.
Thanks for the help....

Joe

good luck finding a HD dealer that's going to machine anything, your better off going with manual compression releases anyway

You better double check on whether the 08 and up are already wired for ACRs. The installation kit includes a new wiring harness as I recall. In my opinion you're better off going with MCRs.

Thanks for the replies. From what I understand, the pigtails or wiring harness is there. I believe there are a couple of connections, or terminals to buy. Probably not cheap, especially from the dealer, but possible. And then the machining of course...

get MCR's... 2 extra buttons to push before you fire and if something goes wrong it's a simple fix opposed to the ACR's.

ProDrag did my heads.

I had ARCs machined and wired into my '09. Think it was around $350 all together. Needed a wiring harness addition. Was a pain to wire and cost more than MCR but love not reaching down on hot motor finding them buttons.

I did the acr's with the harness on my 08 FLHX 4 years ago. Works flawlessly. Guess its too hard for some mechanics to install the acr's so they recommend the mcr's because thats all they can handle.
