Default 2013 street glide stage 1 questions.

I have a 2013 street glide and I have a few questions. I put 4" rinehart slip on's and I have a Arlen ness big sucker on its way. I am contemplating removing the cat, it looks easy but I welcome any advise. My questions are...
#1 should I remove the cat?
#2 is the Harley download worth it?
#3 should I just ride the bike after stage 1 and see how it runs without any download?
### please note, I have been told by a private HD shop and a HD dealer owner that the newer model CPUs are made to handle 200+ different adjustments. The Harley dealer owner explained that I could do the stage one and do nothing to the CPU at all####

Thanks in advance for your help.

Your dealer is probably referring to the adjustments the bike can make on it's own, the o2 sensors are always reading the exhaust and constantly adjusting the fuel mixture. I would ride it and see how it feels , you will know if its running lean, in that case the CPU as you call it can't keep up with your mod's and you will have to go with a download or an aftermarket tuner to richen up that mixture.
As far as the cat, getting rid of it you will probably get a little louder exhaust and get rid of some heat, but probably little performance increase.

Thanks. Ya I was wondering if I would know if it was too lean.

The Harley fuel injection is nowhere near as smart as your dealer is leading you to believe. While in closed loop (cruise) is does adjust the A/F ratio but it does not change any ECM parameters and since it does not have a mass airflow sensor has no idea how much air in going through the engine. Only the ECM parameters (map/tune) calculate fuel delivery and timing of the available senors (throttle position, manifold pressure, temperature, crank position...). You need to either reflash the ECM parameters somehow (flash tuner) or fool the ECM some way (add-on tuner) in order for the ECM to calculate fuel delivery and/or timing for added airflow changes. If anyone has other info I'd love to know about it.
