INSTALL quiet baffles for V&H BSS
Hi
I have just installed a set of Big Shots Staggered on my Fatboy and want to install the Quiet Baffles. I had my dealer put the pipes on but want to put the baffles in myself. How are they fitted and where in the exhaust do they go. Any help would be great.

RE: INSTALL quiet baffles for V&H BSS
Just installed the quiet baffles on my V & H BSS. The allenbolt on the end holds the end cap. Remove that and the end cap. Next look for the other allen bolt between the tire and pipe. That holds the baffels. After removing that bolt the baffles should slide ride out. If the pipes ar old it may be stuck. I only have 3 K miles on mine so it was a piec of cake. Next insert the new baffles, fiber glass & all until it lines up with the bolt hole. This was the trickiest part since it was a tight fit with the fiber glass packing. I had to nudge it in with a hammer and piece of metal bar. Do it a little at a time. If you go past the hole it'll be a bitch to pull it out again. Did mine in about 45 mins and I'm no wrench. Love the sound and seems to have a little more low end punch. I also rotated the end caps so it now looks like a baloney cut.

I have the K & N replacement filter along with a SERT. I had the HD guys install the filter, the BSS pipes, and reset the ECM maps with the SERT on one visit. Since then, I've created my own map using the SERT at home in order to get rid of some decel pop. It's 90% gone but the pipes sometimes burbles a bit when I back off the throttle real quick.
