Default Valve spring replacement

Hi guys can anyone help me with this issue, can I replaced the valve springs without removing the heads or is the frame in the way, I want to upgrade the springs to a higher lift.

Any help appreciated.
Thanks

While Goodson does offer a tool to allow that to be done in the bike, you may need to double check the valve to valve, and valve to piston clearence if stepping up into a large cam, requiring the removal of the heads.

once you get the r. boxes off, pipes & induction system isn't a big deal to remove to take the heads off.like scott said, more to check than just coil bind

"Hillsidecycle" has given you good info ... and the cost of the tool from Goodson http://www.goodson.com/Installation_Tools/ would more than pay for you gasket set and other incidentals needed, If you're changing springs there must be a reason ... why not pop off the heads and get a good look at the heads? ... Just my.02 cents worth.

Thanks guys great info, but I have spoken to the guys at S&S , I want to install 583 easy start cams and have been told that if the valve stem diameter is 5/16'' I will need to change the springs, but if the valve stem diameter is 7mm I will not have to change the valve springs doe's anyone out there have any idea what size diameter the stems are likely to be before I remove.

Thanks guys and have a great day ride safe.

If you have 5/16 valve stems, it's not just the springs, you also need to shorten the guides, or the retainer will bash into them. This is definitely a machine shop operation.
