80" Evo motor S&S carb Jetting ???

Cool 80" Evo motor S&S carb Jetting ???

I have a mildly built 80"? evo 10 over bore w/ Harley pistons, Heads by Short Block Charlie's performance 7mm rebuild shaved 9.5:1 comp., crane 300 2B cam, adj. lifters, accel ignition and S&S super e. have abt 13k on this motor it runs very strong to 95 or so and fall flat. I'm running 24/48 gears. ..... before this rebuild I was running stock comp. a ev27 cam, same carb & ign.set up and 24/49 gears, it wasn't as strong but would pull steady to 110 and still go to bounce the spdo. So now its quicker but falls flat at 95mph. Jetting I hope is the problem. before I start grabbinin in the dark any idea what size jets I should be runnin...?? Not lookin to gointo the carb till I have some jets in my hands.

What jets are you running? If its strong through the mid range, don't mess with the low speed jet. The high speed, (95 mph?) maybe a 70 (?) could bump to a 72.

goin in now hav a 70 & 74 in hand wish I had a 72

had a 70 in it so in w/the 74 see how that wrks and order a 72

yep 74s a bit much, picked up a 72 late yesterday. going in this morning, than out 4 a sunday ride wind her out

Default S&S jetting

I have a stock 1340 Heritage with Vance and Hines Longshots and a Hypercharger. I just snagged an S&S Super E and don't know if I need to change the jets for the open pipes and breather. the stock jets that came with it are .0295 and .072...any help would be appreciated

Approximate Jetting For S&SŪ Super E & G Carburetors
Displacement
displacement........ 883cc 74 to 88ci 96 to 107 ci 111 to 124 ci
Intermediate jet ... 265 - .028 .0295 .031 .031
Main Jet .066 .072 .076 .078
These jetting recommendations are a starting point only. Rejet carb for best performance.

You were better off with the EV 27..... Put it back in......

considering the last thread was 2013, I didn't think it would matter...sorry...and I already read that general info on the S&S sight but it doesn't really answer my question...
