Default Adding HQ heads and cams to a 95"

Hi,

I already have a dealer built 95 in a 2002 heritage with ported and flowed heads, SE flat top pistons, SE-204 cam with stock header with Rush slipons and SE 6200 ignition. I had it dyno tuned and got 84hp and 96tq. I was wondering what I could expect by adding HQ heads and either the hq-00039 or hq-575. I also have the hydraulic cam tensioner upgrade installed. I'm also thinking of doing the 98" kit and was how the low end torque would be for riding 2 up. Any input would be great. Thanks

im sure it would be better than you've got (who did your heads?,and even half way 95",heads & cam build should be doing ATLEAST 95+/100+)look around though, lots better choices than HQ stuff

The dealer did the heads which is why I think I can get an improvment with some different heads and cam. All the engine work was done before I bought the bike. Just looking for some options for what I can do over the winter. Any opinions on going to a 98". The current build has spittle over 40,000 miles on it.

Have done a lot of 98 twin cam top end, all with great success. The correct heads and cams will make in the 115 range for torque and hp. very nice kit for a daily rider. any questions just ask. danvanceracing.com

Do you guys think I should stay a 95" or go 98"? What cam should I use with either set up? I upgraded to the hydraulic cam tensioners and the bike is carbed. Most riding is 2 up but nor always. Looking for good low end torque, but still want to kick my brother in laws *** off the stoplights.

IMHO, I wouldn't spend the money for the extra 3 cubic inches but invest all in heads and cams and exhaust. You will get many varied opinions on cam choices; I have a couple of suggestions but your best bet would be to pick a head porter/builder to work with to develop a package that will deliver what you want.

I am getting the same numbers with my 88". You need better head work. Start there and then maybe a different cam. I have Zippers 557 cam. With the ignition you have I take it your carbed so tuning will be a lot easier. Start with better heads.
