Ceramic coating exhaust/baffles question
I'm planning on ceramic coating my new exhaust. I've heard that the Big Growl exhaust that I got is pretty damn loud so I was going to put the Samson baffles in it. From what I've read, they fit perfectly and suit my needs.
My question is this: Assuming I'll need to drill a hole in the exhaust to mount the baffles, should I do that before sending it out for coating or can I send it out, order my baffles and then drill the hole and mount them once I get both parts back in from shipment?

RE: Ceramic coating exhaust/baffles question
Just a thought, you may want to consider hi-temp powdercoat instead of ceramic coating. When I went to have my exhaust ceramic coated, they told me hi-temp powdercoat would be much more durable on a bike. They said ceramic coating would be more prone to easily chip from rocks, etc.
I went with the powdercoat, and still got the matte black look on the exhaust...

RE: Ceramic coating exhaust/baffles question
ceramic coating would hold the heat in the exhaust better. that should make it cooler to your legs, and improve the efficiency of the exhaust system according to some of the experts. most of the bigger exhaust manufacturers have nice ceramic coating processes, but if you are going to have someone do it locally, it may not hold up as well - there are several different techniques and processes that are proven to provide more durable ceramic coating finishes - but they are more expensive as a rule.

I would do all your drilling and mock-up before the coating. It would really suck if you scratched that new coating trying to drill afterwards.I would also recommend calling JET-HOT and talk to them about the different coatings they have. They also stand behind their work.
