Default SE slip ons

I have a 2001 flhtc, stock headers.. bought used SE slip ons... the right side the usual kind of snug fit but goes on pretty much no problem, the left side I can only get on about inch/ half inch... (just past the cut in the slip-ons ) I tried the other slip on an same thing,, so I cut header an made it fit,,, that was 12,000 miles ago,,, just put new rear tire on an had to drop the whole exhaust.. the slip on would not come off,., I do 20,000 plus a year so I don't want to pull the exhaust every time I change my rear tire,,, (currently have some no name better sound than stock pipes that fit fine,, but I like the sound looks an power I get from the SE. Is there a good way to expand the slip on diameter? an maybe some sort of high heat antie seize? Im really at a loss any help appreciated Thanks Buddha

ps I couldn't get the slip on off(its off now) so I thru another header on the bike so I could keep rolling
