I've read a few post that say the Woods cams are noisier than most. Is this anything that I should be concerned about?

Yes, the Woods cams are noiser, but only noticeable if you are running a stock exhaust. I run 116" Twin cam, S&S setup with 89cc heads. I have tried 3 different cams, S&S 625, Woods TW6HG, HQ 33 (in that order). I questioned Bob Woods on his recommendation for the 6's in my setup but he let me know what he thought about my question... "you asked me my recommendation and I gave it you, it you don't want the answer, don't ask the question." I'm paraphrasing, but that was the just of it. After trying all three cams in a 99 Fuel Injected bike, I went back to the Woods 6s. The torque is unbelievable!
Call ole Bob up, he'll tell what you need....

I also run Woods cams, yes as with all gear drives they make some noise, I've run several diff cams and none compare to the Woods for TQ/HP
My 400G's come in at 2200rpm, at 2500rpm i'm above 100 tq, it peaks about 118tq and stays above 100tq until after 6000rpm's
I do run an oil cooler but I haven't had any heat problems, no pinging

Woods cams will make the most power, But most of his cams are "fast ramp" agressive profiles and thats what makes them noisey. The dependablity might not be questionable on long trips so its all in what your looking for. If you wanted to stay with S.E. stuff id run the SE 258. if your not hung up on the SE stuff id run Andrews tw55 cams. Great dependability great power too and it will run with the comp. you stated.

I talked to Bob Wood yesterday and he recommended his 408G-7 cams for my set-up. He said these cams are his latest design and a all-around badass cam. When I asked Bob how much power I could expect from my 113 kitwith these cams he said " If you get anything less than 125/125 then I would have your mechanic start looking for what he did wrong." Bob isa great guy to talk to and I really liked what he had to say.
