Default Slip-on choice for 2010 Fat Bob

Hi folks,

I got my first Harley last April. It's a 2010 FXDF and love the bike but I need to do something about the exhaust. More than an increase in volume (a bit would be nice!) i'd like deeper rumble. I've searched on here and exhasutively on YouTube. While I understand that the sound may be subjective I'm sure someone has goen through a similar dilemma of not wanting to p*** the neighbours off and still have a better quality of sound.

From the options available as slipons there appear to be -

1. Rush slipons with 1.75" baffles or more

2. S&S slipons - not sure if the baffles can be swapped out

3. Khrome Werks - not sure of quality or sound of these.

Can anyone chip in with experiencesw of the above as quieter options?

Many thanks,

Albert

I used to have Rush 2.00 slip-ons, not that loud - should not have any problems with neighbors unless you like to rev up your bike alot. I like 2 into 1 pipes better, thus running Bassani right now.

Thanks DJL but the Fullsac seem for the touring bikes only. I'll check out the Big City Thunder baffles but need to get some slipons first I think

I believe you may be right about Fullsac but I would give them a call anyway; they might have some suggestions. No need for slipons if you can find a suitable baffle; save some $$.

Having listened to dozens of clips on youtube and a few in real life, I personally think rush slip-ons sound best. It's a low, rich, bass drum grumble, packing a punch in each pulse, but not obnoxious.

Maybe it would also be to your liking, if you prefer deeper sound.

Hi,

I ran these for many Km's and pretty happy with them, not too loud, good harley sound, bit of popping as open pipe and nothing to worry about

Cycle shack 2.5 slash cut

Thanks

Thanks guys for the input. I don't want to go the route of a full system just yet as the funds are low. The Cycle Shack sound pretty good but it's hard to judge the volume (as always!) from a video.

If anyone is using the S&S slipons or Rush's slipons with baffles smaller than 2.00" I'd be really interested to hear from them.

Thanks again.
Al
