The previous owner of my softail somehow hit a curb and dented the last 6" of my front/bottom pipe. I plan to remove the exhaust and tape off and cut the last 8" of both pipes off. I've noticed the mounting bracket will overlap the new exhaust end. Does anyone know if this bracket is REALLY necessary? I know custom bikes don't generally roll brackets like that. Would I be ok just going without the bracket?
