Where will this build put me??
I am rebuilding my 2000 fatboy. This is what I think would work, but would like comments. Started out as a 88 TC B model, now it is a 95 with Andrews tw37 cams, slighty modified and polished heads, 2 into 1 super trap exhaust, twin tec ignition and KB flat tops at 9.1:1. Considering 10.25:1 Screaming eagles. Last bore job was loose and have a little piston slap, so I am buying new jugs and pistons. Where do yall think this build tuned well will put me in HP and TQ, and do you forsee overheating issues with this compression?

A good set of ported heads and your pipe should push those number up 3-5 each way. Please have a reputable porter work your heads; not a wannabe. If the porting is botched, all is for naught.

Thayers Sales and Service, Corfu N.Y.,(inventor/manufacturer of the 3 stage oil pump) had one of our 98"/37/our heads on his dyno a while back. 108/111.
An outfit in Manchester N.H., just tuned a Merrimac, Mass. clients 98"/37/our heads to 106/110.
Both of those had a 2/1 pipe.

Well, I got it back today. Screaming eagle dome pistons 10.25:1, heads were at 80 cc's. they were done by Hildreath Performance several years ago. Supertrap 2 into pipes. It was pinging coming home. Spent some time adjusting my timing curve and it is really responsive! No more pinging, and pulls like a train. Basically all that was done was replace the jugs and pistons. When it was bored last time they over bored the front jug and I've had a front piston bangin away for 20000 miles! Been in 4 shops and this last one is the only one that checked the piston to bore clearance. It was way loose. Bought new jugs and pistons from Harley and knock is gone and it runs better than ever. May need compression releases. We'll see. I'm not too much from sea level. Was worried about the compression being to high but the mechanic assured me it'll be good, same set up in his bike without the pipes or heads. So far so good. I was told previously the knock I was hearing was valve train noise, wrist pins, push rods, and one told me I had possible valve to piston contact. All were wrong. A boat load of money on a poorly done bore job. Good wrench is hard to find!

Because this is the second time I've had a Harley bored by "reputable people and the second botched job. First time on a 93 Evo and it melted down like a wax candle. Real hard cranking , they put a stronger starter on it, but it was egged out and tight. Made for a bad day 800 miles later. I DO still have the jugs off the latest build for a later project. Any way, 2 new jugs was $300 and it would have cost me 200 and a couple of weeks if I found someone to do it correctly.
