I changed the fluids in all 3 holes a couple of days ago. While I was at it I adjusted the clutch. I took her for a ride right after that and my check engine light came on about 2 minutes into the ride. She was running no different from normal and there was no power loss at all. On some starts the light comes on for 4-5 seconds before it goes out and on other starts it doesn't go out at all. So I checked for codes and it gave me po577 cruise control input high. So just out of curiosity I took her for a rip and tried the cruise control and it worked for a couple minutes and disengaged the cruise. I tried it 2 or 3 more times and got the same result. It seems kind of odd to me that none of this has happened before I changed all the fluids and if it's an electrical problem why would it have anything to do with the check engine light?
My WAG is you have a short in your cruise circuit somewhere leading something to get hot and trip a breaker. My next WAG is the check engine light comes on to let you know something is wrong somewhere. I don't know of a different warning light that might be on a touring bike though.
I forgot to mention that the last time my cruise control wouldn't work was when I found out my rear brake light switch was fried to a crisp. I had it switched out for a new one but the check engine light never came on at the time.
Guess I have to take it to my indy to have him check it out. Maybe it's the ccm or the ecm or a relay or some ****. I don't have Benjamins dripping out my *** so I thought I would ask here first.
