Default Fuel Mileage after Stage 1

Forgive the repost if this is one, but I coudn't find any satisfactory answers from my searching through the Forum.

I have an 07 Street Bob, PCIII usb, Arlen Ness Big Sucker A/C, and Vance & Hines Big Radius pipes. The map is correct for my equipment and bike but my mileage has gone into the toilet. Was getting low to mid 40's, but now only about 25 mpg. Is this common? I'm afraid I'm damaging something by running it too rich. Is there anything that may have cause such a drastic reduction in mileage?

Your mpg will drop some but not that much. I would say the PCIII needs a little fine tuning on it. Don't really know anything about the PC cause I have never used them. I use a DFO simple to install and simple to tune.

I have 07 Lowrider, Stage 1 download S.E. slipons, and Heavy Breather and get 40+ M.P.G. no matter how hard I ride!

Something's not right. I have an 07 FXSTC with the SE Air Cleaner, Big Radius, and PCIII with a map downloaded for this setup. I am getting about 33 - 35 mpg. Don't know about the highway milage yet as I havent had it on a road trip yet. I would think you should be in the 30's at least.

I have a 114cui build with stage IV heads and I get over 40 mpg average. Low 37 mpg: high 47 mpg. 25 mpg is way to low.

Any chance the thrill of your new exhaust sound and added power is causing your poor mileage due to hot rodding the bike? That would be my guess.

SE slipons, SE AC, map done 37 MPG, bike was running hotter but the remap took care of that.

Your sparkplugs will tell you if it is running too rich. Any chance you are riding different now? Holding it in lower gears longer will eat a lot of gas.
