Default Proper way to push in exhaust gaskets?

just curious as to whether there are any tips or tricks other than just "pushing them in" on exhaust gaskets? They look like they could collapse if you push them in wrong, so was just wondering...

All I have ever fooled with are SE's. The stock ones just fall in so with on up or down. How ever the SE need the flat side to the bike and taper to the pipe. AND YES THEY CAN BE A PAIN! Spent 5 min. yesterday getting the little buggers going. They will crush if you push to hard but are not fragal. Start them flush and as soon as you get a complete lip GENTLY rock back and forth while pushing. I almays wipe them w/ a little Neverseaze to help slide. Neverseaze your studs while you are at it and follow torque sequence in manual.

Take a gasket to Home Depot, find a short plastic pipe connector thats close to the same outside diameter as the gasket and use the connector as a tool to push in the gasket evenly. A large socket will also work...

I think its 2 1/16 outside diameter....but check it yourself.
