2 inch mufflers to 1 3/4 pipe??
Good morning everyone!
Tuesday I bought a 2013 Roadking, first new vehicle I have ever owned. After some research I purchased a set of s&s headers and Rinehart 4" slip ons. I guess I should have researchd better but the mufflers have a 2" inlet compared to the 1 3/4 pipe of the header. I have axcess to a good pipe expander and am considering expanding the ends of the headers to fit the mufflers. Performance wise I wasn't thinking it would matter just not sure of the heat shield fit. Does anone see where the expansion at the muffler would adversely affect the performance or sound?
Thanks everyone,
Happy Easter!!

You can be sure that the muffler will NOT expand to two inch without at least cracking the chrome but more probably splitting the inlet of the muffler. A better approach if you feel that you have to use the mufflers is to see if you can find what they call a "bushing adapter" to go from inch and three quarter ID to two inch OD. You could stop by a muffler shop for a little help.

Larry, it's the pipe that would to be expanded, not the muffler. I'm just contemplating any performance issues, cosmetics won't be a problem, won't be seen
