Need advice on '97 Road King carb/ignition/cam!
Hi,folks!
I just bought my first Harley – '97 FLHRI Road King in nice shape, it's EFI and i'm going to make some upgrades to it. First of all, i'm going to convert it to carb, upgrade ignition and cam. I read a lot about all this things and it seems to make my choice even more difficult. The perfect result would be to combine both good performance and mileage without killing reliability and changing fuel type - i bought this bike for touring and would like to visit locations where good petrol was only seen on TV. But i will also use it for night cruising through the city from time to time.
As i learned from different sources, Mikuni HSR42/Ultima 2000i/Andrews EV27 is a good direction to think about, but there are so many guys saying EV46 is better for heavy touring bike, or 42mm carb is too big for standart 80 inch Evo and I'll be more happy with Super E, etc. So i decided to ask for your experienced opinions on my case! What would you recommend, guys?
The season is on the way to my city, so any help is appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
P.S. I'm from Moscow, Russia, sorry for my English, hope my post is understandable

This, I'm also a van if the 3010 , both will offer exceptional performcance over stock form, the cv is also a top performer, can't beat the combo !

Stock CV is absolutely fine.
A plug and play only cam, that has shown us quite surpising results is a Crane 300-2B.
Really do not need a different ignition with just a cam swap.
If you really want to have much more, then a Wood 6, a set of 10.0 cr Wiseco pistons, and at that point a Dyna 2000i ignition.
You'll see at/near 80 hp and 90 ft/lbs.
Stock CV carb is still all is needed for this.
